5 Ways to Track Your Cycle

Whether you are searching for hormone-free birth control/fertility options, looking for Emotional Balance during PMS, or working to regulate your period with Women’s Formula, here are five holistic ways to track your cycle.

  • Use our Period Calendars.
  • Empower your hormonal health by knowing your own unique cycle. We’re excited to release a 2018 period calendar to help you own your cycle. It includes descriptions, symptoms, suggestions, and a note section for each phase of your cycle.

  • Pay attention to PMS symptoms.
  • PMS symptoms vary person-to-person.  Each month, take notes on how you feel throughout the stages of your cycle to know when it’s coming. PMS ranges from tender breasts, lower back pain, skin irritations, and mood swings. When you’re experiencing PMS, go to the acupuncturist, take time to relax, and use Emotional Balance to promote a calm and peaceful mind.

  • Track your Basal Body Temperature (BBT).
  • Your Basal Body Temperature is your temperature when your body is at rest. The best time to take your temperature is when you wake up in the morning. You’ll need to consistently track your temperature every day and write it down. When hormones shift after ovulation, BBT will raise by about a degree.  One of our favorite apps for tracking BBT is Fertility Friend.

  • Cervical Mucus.
  • Your mucus is a strong indicator of ovulation. When fertile, your cervical mucus builds and will look similar to an egg white - clear and slick. This indicates your most fertile time of the month (important to understand both if you're trying to get pregnant, and if you're trying to avoid pregnancy!).

  • Stay in touch with the moons.
  • Most women’s periods are on average 28 days, which syncs up with the moon’s waxing and waning cycle. Once you find your menstrual cycle’s connection to the moon’s cycle you can always have a visual reminder of where you are in your cycle by looking up to the night sky!
